At some point the trail sort of ends up and you continue by hugging the rock on the uphill/rightside formations (where "The Phalanx" is)until you're basically across from Chessapeak wall. i'm pretty sure this trail is long overgrown/gone.

Michael G, if you cannot find this wall even with Mtn. Project directions you are going to find it hard to find anything on the Lemmon. Park at MP 9.4 and hike up steep drainage. Once you reach the short looking black streaked part of the Chessmen known as the Checkerboard look left. you will see the top of the Chessapeak wall (100 yds away at most) past a small ridge of rock. Bush whack toward the lower end of it. Shouldn't take more than 20-25 minutes. Good luck.

If you think that getting to Chessapeak wall is a "hard to get to" bushwhack it is time to get some snips and work on the path to the cliff or just buck up! It is a fun wall and if you did a little path clearing it might get more visits.

I am really starting to appreciate the fact we can rock climb 350 days a year thanks to our weather. It's a cold day here today with an expected high of 63 and a low of 39. Brrrr.

Yeah Marcy and I were just thinking we'd need to move to sunny spots to climb. Seems like the weather just jumped from summer to winter over a short time!

The Ruins is also a good place to visit this time of year shady early but the sun is not far away and comes around pretty quick.

What you expect me to work to get to the climbs I want to do? I thought this was America.

Damn, already starting to miss the AZ weather; Beanfest was a nice respite. More importantly, I'm glad your Boulder X's survived the tequila-splosion EFR!

Well it is 53 and partly cloudy with more showers forecast after noon. One of the rare days we will not climb. Could probably get a few hours in somewhere but I am trashed from yesterday when it was 83 with light clouds.

Thanks for your awesome new book, Eric, and for the suggestion of Alcatraz wall when I asked at the gym. I loved that area! Scenic and warm. (Gumby wall was also very fun but cold, being at 8000'!)

Windy Point is coming into season. Beautiful day, temps in the 80s in town made it nice in the sun and better in the shade.

It was warm this weekend making it perfect at Windy Point. With cooler weather 60's it might be time for the Ruins, Weathertop, or even Pinhead while visiting for Thanksgiving.

Sunspots would be a tad warm but doable in a tee shirt and shorts unless the wind is blowing. Ruins would be perfect.
