Ice Climbing in Scotland in January

The lady and I are headed to Scotland around New Years and will have about 6 days (Jan 2nd-8th) to get some climbing in. We were looking at maybe hiking Ben Nevis and possibly hiring a guide to help us find some single pitch ice or easy mixed. The lady does not climb multipitch ice/mixed. We have never hired a guide before but might be worth it in this case since our time is limited.

We also did not plan to bring rope/rack etc on our trip. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Here's a good article on winter hill-walking in Scotland: mcofs.org.uk/winter-hillwal…

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
