Hi, some friends and I are heading up to Linville Gorge for the weekend to climb at Table Rock and The Amphitheater.

What are some recommend camping areas? Preferably not too primitive.. At least have drinking water.

There's free camping right at the base of Table Rock that provides excellent access to Table Rock itself as well as Linville Gorge. Only problem is there's no water. Make sure to bring plenty of your own. It's also primitive.

Honestly, you don't want to have to drive to the parking lot of Table Rock every day. You really should just camp there. Plus, it's where all the climbers hang out.

8 miles one way on a gravel road is long. Bring your own water and camp at any of the dozens of pulloffs along the road or near the TR parking lot.
