Even with a second battery electric heaters pull a TON of power. running AC you'll need an inverter of decent size, say 2000 watt, breaker, etc

charge some small batteries with a solar panel/AC inverter all day or while on the road with an AC inverter plugged into your 12V cig lighter

He has a EuroVan..... not the same animal, at all.

Fix your heater........ Or do what I did when I was a hi-schooler living in Omaha and I had a TR2, with a rag top.... many sterno cans, down by your feet.

Hey t.ferguson, if you can't fix the van's heating system, I recommend buying a heated seat cushion (example here : amazon.com/Wagan-IN9438-Hea…).

That option is cheap, requires no electrical intelligence to install, and won't kill you if you keep the windows rolled up.

The problem with it is that you should only use it when the car's engine is on. Electrical heating, of any form, will kill your battery after just a few hours.

^Agreed. Two more pros: propane is relatively cheap and also very readily available.

I don't have any experience with this aftermarket heater ( flex-a-lite.com/mojave-heat… ) but it seems like it might be a solution for some people.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
