Hello all,

I am looking for Ice climbing partners this year. I finally took the plunge and purchased boots and crampons. I still have to get tools, so if you have an extra set that would be awesome, but I should be getting some in the next paycheck or two. I would love if someone could show me how to ice climb. I would like to learn from someone with a lot of experience. With this being my first season, I would like to ingrain good habits.

I have been rock climbing for 7 years and trad climbing for 5. I have a good understanding of ice, and I am more than psyched to learn more! Even if you don't want to partner up, maybe you could offer me some advice or put me in touch with the right people.

Thanks guys!!

I live in Boulder and I've been climbing ice for about 8 years. I can definitely take you out. Are you ever free mid-week? I try to get out for a half day at local crags (Hidden Falls, CCC, etc) at least once a week to swing some tools. Usually just top rope solo, but would love to get a belay so I can lead some harder routes. And have 3 pairs of tools :)

John W or Jon H,

I've been climbing ice for ten plus years and have more availability than partners. I'm available most any day. Send me a PM and we can get together

Hey Guys,

I'd be interested in gaining some experience as well. Work is slowing down for me so I can be available pretty much whenever (even midweek).

Following WI5, but no real WI3 leads yet.

Anyone on this list, feel free to contact me for climbing ice. I'm not expert yet, but improving. I love alpine climbs but will also do lower stuff

Hi all,

I am in pretty much the same boat as John. I would be happy to get out and learn more about ice (especially alpine) with anyone this winter! I am mainly only available on weekends though.

I will be available in the Ouray - Telluride area from November 21 to November 27. I am an experienced ice and mixed climber and always happy to introduce people to the sport, teach fundamental skills, or improve existing skills. PM me, if interested.

I'll throw my hat in the ring too. Would love more winter climbing partners. Pretty new to ice climbing, don't lead yet but working on it. What I can do is stand forever in the freezing cold and safely belay you... only available on weekends really.

Looks like a good list of ice partners going here. I'm looking for partners for this coming season too. I climbed in Ouray for a month two years ago, mostly at the park, and am looking to get back into ice climbing now that I'm living in Boulder. I'll have some Mondays off this winter for long weekends and would like to carpool to Ouray and other climbs around the state. I have basic modern gear and 5 screws. I just bought some guidebooks too.

I'm also in need of people to climb ice with. Live in Grand Junction, so it seems I'm on the other side of the hill from most of you. If you're headed to Ouray, shoot me a message.

Lead 3, follow whatever, looking to improve that.

Have all my own gear, plus some to loan.

I'd be stoked to help someone get into the sport, or climb with someone better than me.

Ok for anyone on this list 303-242-7506 if you want to climb. I'm no expert yet, but have led shorter and easier stuff and aiming to do more. I have tools, etc. I especially like bigger moderate alpine stuff, but will also climb closer and shorter areas. Right now I'm squeezing out rock climbing whenever possible before end of the season, but am flexible

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
