Love the new ladder, but the current ropes are a little saggy.
I was contemplating replacing them with a couple of static lines, but don't want to step on anybody's toes, so if there is someone who has been maintaining the ropes and has other plans, just let me know.
Not sure exactly when I'll be able to pull this off, hopefully before the creek freezes.

I was responsible for the ladder. It's too bad the sand paper material has mostly come off the rungs and once I did the initial install it was pretty clear the ladder could have had some better color - holy cow do those white rungs stick out like sore thumbs.

Upgrading the ropes to static lines would be awesome. I don't know who did the current set of ropes but can't imagine they would complain.

I also bought a much better ladder that I would like someone to install in place of the one I put up. A very quality ladder with black nylon material and wood rungs. My friend Matt might install it. I hurt my foot and am out of action for a few months so I won't be getting to it.

If I can't get my buddy Matt to install the ladder I'll PM you.

Hey guys, I put up the lines a few months ago because the old ones were really worn through. Unfortunately it seems they have stretched a lot since then. One is static and one is dynamic so if you want to save some money and time you could just replace the one. Or if you want to utilize the ropes that are there (since they are in good condition) they really just need to be tightened.

But don't be worried about stepping on toes, if you have a better idea go for it!

Thank you for doing that. The tricky part of setting up long term tyrollean setups is having a block and tackle set handy to get proper tension. Static ropes works best in my experience.

I have a white static rope I can use.
I don't have the expertise to do this right. The Boulder Canyon tyrol guru has volunteered to help, but it seems a little burdensome for him plus he's a 9-5er so that means doing the job in the cold, cold, darkness or on a (likely) busy weekend.
If anyone else with expertise is willing to help me during the week, I'd be glad to get this done. PM me or I can post my cell.
I'd also like to beef up the tree protector.

As for the ladder, I really don't mind the white color, but a new better ladder is hard to dislike!

Hey Mark, I live here in Golden and frequent CCC on a regular basis, I would be happy to help if we can arrange a time. I don't have a block an tackle unfortunately- i have been using a pretty simple but affective 3 - 1 system with some of my big wall gear.

Thanks for taking care of this guys. I have no useful tools or ropes to offer, but I'd be happy to help. Either way, from someone who's crossed that line more times than I'd care to remember, the work is appreciated!

I prefer to raise my abilities to the level of the tyrol not lower the tyrol to my level. If we remove all the challenging tyroleans what will future generations aspire to?

And don't give me that "if you don't like the ladders, then don't use them" b.s. argument. It's nonsense! The spirit of the tyrol has already been irrevocably altered.

Crikey! It's those dang ladders that are making the new demographic drop each other all over the cliffs.
BITD all we needed was a dead cat tied to our waist and a piece of twine and we'd be good to go.
Never even got our feet wet walking on top of the creek.
Darn tootin'!
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
