Dating a Camalot

Is it possible to find the manufacture date of a C4 Camalot? I just bought 2 new sets from backcountry.com, and purchase a #3 from a individual on here. It still had the factory tag on it, but it seems to be a different shade of blue. Not that it matters, but was wondering for future purchases.

And if I'm not mistaken the sling has a little black tag with the production date on one side.

The new camalots I have show the year on the tag, but the older one does not.

There is a four digit number on the bottom of the cam lobe. the first digit is the last digit of the year the next three are the day, example: 1234 would mean it was manufactured on the 234th day of 2011.

Or 2001. The problem with the Julian date code.

They were thumbposts in 2001... clears that up. The new bd cams made in USA are a much deeper richer color across the line.
