Hey just wondering if anyone has been to the Homestead recently? I'm wondering what the road condition is like. I was there at the beginning of the summer and the road was so bad a half mile in we had to park off the side of the road and hike in the rest of way. Just curious if its gotten any better.

Thanks

Road is impassable to all but the most adventurous as of 10/1. I got my half ton 4x4 through but did some body damage.

Alright thanks man. Yeah I'm not looking to wreck my car. I've done the hike in before...just much more convenient if you can drive all the way.

I heard maybe the road was going to be filled this month. Did I make that up?

That would be amazing. Do you remember where you heard/saw that?

Press Release wrote: In addition to acquiring the 360 acres, Access Fund is also working with the BLM and State of Arizona to record a public right of way across state trust land and repair the most eroded portion of the road, a project expected to finish in the next year... It is important to note that the access road crosses a matrix of private and public land and is currently impassable by standard vehicles. Access across the initial stretch of state trust land requires a state recreation permit, but a pending public right-of-way application will soon eliminate this need. For those without 4WD high clearance, the access road can be hiked in approximately an hour. The current access point may be modified in the near future to secure permanent and sustainable public access.

TJ, any pictures of the road?

I have been told a few times that it was 'impassable' but we went and it wasn't bad at all...
