If anyone finds my bail biner, please don't return it.

whats the point in a retrievable sling if you have to retire it afterwards? I can understand not wanting to leave a biner, especially if you haven't gotten any bail biners yet. Considering the price of 1" tube webbing, I have no problem leaving a 3' sling so I can loop the sling through the hanger and tie a basket hitch, which provides you redundancy if the hanger is sharp and happens to cut one of the strands of webbing |

Redundancy? Are you sure you understand a basket hitch? |

How does a basket hitch provide redundancy??? If one strand is cut the whole thing is fubar. And that is technically what ones does with the sling I described above. (Damn I am getting slow - the two posts above ask the same question). |

Apparently you left some paragraph breaks, too... |

Just do not make a mess of it for the next person and make sure yer bail material can be easily removed and not become tat. Which is what will likely happen once yer overhand knot is weighted. |

Great OP, that I ran across looking for something else. Timeless perspective! |
