Hey, I am looking for any recommendations for crack climbs in red rocks. Looking for grades I between 5,7-5,9. I am heading out there on Saturday. Thanks

Arrow Place is a great crack climb in that range. P1 is more stemming and face moves, but P2 is awesome hand jamming the whole way. My partner and I repeated P2 2 or 3 times each just because it was so fun.

Also the Unknown 5.10+ to climbers left shares anchors with P1 of Arrow Place and is a super fun single pitch. Not exactly a crack climb, but definitely worth doing. Especially since you can just leave a TR up after climbing AP.

If you're looking for straight in cracks, there aren't a whole lot. These ones are some of the cleanest, but you may need other skills as well...

Straight Shooter

Yin and Yang

The Fox

Cadillac Crack

Topless Twins has a lot of crack moves.

Ragged Edges has a some crack climbing.

There are some more but at that rating range, the pickings can be slim.

I personally wouldn't call Birdland or Dark Shadows crack climbs. They are quintessential Red Rock trad lines. They follow cracks but require a ton of face climbing in addition to interspersed crack moves.

Ying and yang and the fox are not 5.7-5.9; however ragged edges is( but you won't have to jam necessarily) So is Valentine's Day.

Quick Search gave me this... or SuperTopo has this

+1 for arrow place. Too bad you aren't looking at 5.10's. Much better options in that realm.

You're correct about Yin and Yang. I was thinking Karate Crack.

I thought the Fox was 5.9+ but appear to be mistaken there as well.

All of them are sweet climbs that are worth giving a shot. If you can't finish, just pull on gear until you get to the top and work it on TR.

Fold Out 5.7, Atras 5.8 (think 5.9) and Hop Route on Necromancer Wall.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
