So my wife and I are heading down from the PNW between Christmas and New Year's for a friend's wedding in Greeley, and we wanted to get half a day or so of guided introductory ice climbing in the Boulder area, probably Dec. 30th. Can anyone recommend a good guiding service in the area? My wife climbs single pitch sport, up to 5.9, I climb multi-pitch sport up to 5.10b, and we've gone ice climbing exactly once (on a commercially-run ice tower top-rope setup at a ski resort), so we're looking to get the skills to get into the sport and get out climbing ourselves.
Right now what I've come up with, our best option would be a private guide in Clear Creek Canyon for half a day with the Colorado Climbing Company. Anyone have any experience with them, any other recommendations, or is an AMGA guide and is looking for clients on or around that date?
