Narrow knee pad ideas

Has anybody seen a really narrow knee pad that works? Or have an idea how to make one?
I'm trying a climb that includes a very shallow kneebar so only about 3 inches of my lower thigh is involved. I'd rather not wear a full pad as I find them restrictive and not that pleasant and it's only one move on a 30 meter climb...but a crucial move I think.
TIA

I made one by cutting a regular pad to the desired height/length/. It worked for my purposes, which was a very secure but very sharp kneebar. I doubt it would work well for an insecure kneebar though. Maybe with enough tape.

Hate to sacrifice an expensive knee pad.

The knee bar in question is secure but sharp. I may have Rock and Resole put some rubber on a cloth knee brace if I can find one that is narrow and tight enough to stay in place. Or maybe just benzoin some tape to my thigh.

Tony had R&R sew a kneepad on a pair of jeans, but it didn't work that well... If it's not a smear/friction kneebar, I'd imagine duct taping the bare skin of the thigh in addition to wearing long pants (I prefer slightly thick & grippy (against the skin) soft shell material) would suffice most of the time?

Have you tried the mini downgrader ?

FWIW, I didn't have rubber on my short pad. I just took an old neoprene pad I had laying around and chopped it. But again, it was a very secure kneebar. Shumin's duct tape idea sounds good too. You could maybe wrap some loose padding under the duct tape too.

Also, am I the only one DYING to know where this kneebar is?

I generally find that when I put the pad(s) on I feel like a cat with duct tape on its paws at first. However, once I start climbing it seems like I don't notice them that much. I pretty much always wear pants, and if it is a nasty knee bar I duct tape the pad onto my pants (above and below the pads).

then I also make sure that my belt on my pants is pretty tight and the waist is up high (so it doesn't pull my pants down a bit, which causes the pad to slide down my thigh a bit).

none of this info is probably that helpful in your case though(?)

The last crux on $00pr kr33m.
Trying not to spray, although this particular route would be a warm up for you folks who've replied!

I don't mind the pain of this knee bar, but if I get all bloody it's going to be bad for friction.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
