TR at Sunset Park?

How true is this statement in the "bio" for Sunset Park?

"And there's plenty to toprope for non-leaders."

I only see (maybe) 1 route listed as TR on the list. Any insight is helpful. I can do sport, but my wife is TR-only and we're looking for a place to camp/climb within a 3/4 hr drive of ATL for my birthday weekend.

that's 3-4 hr drive (not three fourths)

There are a handful of routes on Sunset Rock proper ranging from 5.8-5.11 (mostly middlin 10's) that you can throw a rope on from the top. If you venture north or south of there you will need a competent leader.

You should look into Leda. It has plenty of moderate sport routes.

The drive from Atl to Sunset is less than two hours. There are some good 8's as well. Wear helmets and watch for things coming down on you. The trail is directly above all the TR routes.

That's valuable insight, I appreciate all of it.

On a side note: unless there's a "Tommy" who's just as popular, I'm Pretty sure I follow your Instagram, Mr. Caldwell. Good stuff, thanks again.

Anytime this comes up, I always imagine Tom going off like "Michael Bolton" in Office Space.

Why should I change?

Sorry to disappoint, but that is not me. That guys lives in Estes and is way more talented. My younger climbing friends joke about going climbing with Tommy. The whole Dawn Wall coverage was hilarious on social media with relatives and friends asking my mom if it was me. I don't mind, just don't call me Tommy.

I lived in ATL for 25 years, and started climbing when living in midtown. 2 hrs to Sunset? Sounds pretty optimistic to me, 2.5 from midtown to the parking is about right, from the outer burbs like Marietta 2 might happen.

Lots of people TR'd stuff back then. And no it's not all below the base trail. Be prepared for limited, unclear access to the top of things and be willing to scramble up the few breaks in the cliffline and wander around on top with a ground-spotter trying to home you in on the route. Southern sector seems better for this than northern. We did a fair amount of this in the southern sector and on the main sunset area near the base of the descent (scream wall, alpha omega, stuff around there).

Dang grandpa. You know they changed the speed limit to 70 almost the whole way, which converts to 85 Atlanta speed.

Where are these other TR spots anyways? It is not obvious from the bottom. It would be good info to have, since the ones below the lookout can be sketchy with so many people above.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
