Passengers in a conversion van?

hey all!
I hopefully plan on buying a Chevy G20 here soon and converting It into a small living space. My main question is, is there a way I can build a 3 person bench or something in the back to accommodate a few extra passengers? I'll be crossing the border into Canada often and I don't think it'd fly with the border patrol to just have people chilling in the back...

I don't understand - what is the difference whether they are on a bench or not? Is the concern over seat belts? Why would the border patrol care how they are seated?

Yeah sorry wasn't exactly sure how to word this. Seat belts is the concern

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
