climbing friend!

I cannot for literal for serious believe your fascination with fancy pants!!! Is this a dream?

Any old thrift store pants or shorts will do, preferably with stiffer fabric to reduce inappropriate crotch harness bulge.

Climbing friend Aleks,

I have an enormous crotch bulge no matter the pants I wear. Do you have any advice?

With these pants, I will achieve inner energy, all for one, we are one, climb the pants away from your life and join us in creating energy.

Climbing friend,

You must wear pants of stiff and thick material, and perhaps loosen your harness leg loops. Also you may try to hang your hand between your legs when being lowered, in order to be blocking the view from children and any other unwanted crotch-lookers.

I'd recommend anything from Arborwear. Probably fails the cheap test, but easily the most durable climbing pants I've had, with plenty of room to maneuver in. A bit stiff at first, but once you break them in - heaven.

Pants should not be something that requires breaking-in.

BEN DAVIS hahahahahaha worst pants ever dude. They made us wear them in the Montana Conservation Corps, freakin awful, never broke in (that crease does not go away), pockets were tight at the top and then opened into a cavern. And just regular pockets? No tool pockets, no double knee, the one and only thing they have going for them is they are non-cotton, but so are the Tech pants from Arborwear or the Dryhose pants from Duluth, both which are more durable and way more comfortable.

I started climbing in the Sears white painters pants with 2" swami belt era and then the lycra craze of the 80's. These days I love the softness of Prana. Carhartts feel like sheets of 1/2" plywood stapled together.

That might put you in the same league as Aleks, but only if you on-sight 5.14.

Jonnymuir, you're wrong about the break in on BD. Pockets are hard to get in but hold a lot. I don't lose shit like I did with dickies. BD's last forever!

They last forever because they are torture devices. And Im not wrong on the break in. I had to wear those pants, one pair of em, every single day of my life for 5 straight months and that fuckin crease never went away. Not to mention they stayed stiff, and they just look goofy, like some dress slack turned outdoor pant. Obviously, Im biased in this debate, but virtually every fellow Crew Leader and every Crew Member hated em.

Haha. You're entitled to your opinion. I'm wearing a pair now. Soft as a bunny. And no more crease. But hey, They are tough and hold up to rocks.
