Anyone know the status of water sources near the hulk bivy spot? I've heard the stream is often dry in late season. How far a walk is it to get water currently?

Thanks!

One month ago it was fine. Close to the campsites. I have a friend who was up there last week, I'll see if I can find out from him.

Water was flowing two weekends ago, maybe a five minute walk from where my friends camped.

From what I've seen in my high country trips this and last month. All the typical water sources are available in every location I've been up to about 12,000'. Note that it may be much better in the afternoon/evening but with some time even in the morning I have been able to gather water in the alpine.

There will never be a problem getting water at the Hulk. If you google maps the bivy spot, you'll see that there is a huge lake just a few hundred yards from the main bivy area. The worst-case scenario is that you have to walk to this lake which is no big deal. The best case is that you walk 50 ft for water in early season. Either way, there's water.
