Isn't that the cousin of the artist Snow? They'd make a good pair. Add in a little Flavor Flav and you've got a tasty treat!

Well, it IS true that October and November are my favorite months of ice season. You could say they are the ONLY months of my ice season. So, yeah, bring it on!

Time to fire it up. The Black Wall Gully probably has ice in it.

Climbed the little snow gully to the right of Tyndall Glacier today, and got a few sticks in. Here's a write up if anyone's interested:

At least it helped get the calves in shape for when the ice really gets here.

There is no ice in the black wall gully as of this morning. Plenty of water flowing over the routes thought so it won't be long.

Climbed Alexanders on Longs with Carl P Sept 20th 2015
- Conditions were mixed, very little ice until above the Chockstone
- Daytime temps on the route were about 35-40F
- No other ice visable on any other routes
- Still a few people on the Diamond freezing their a**es off
- We added carabiners to numerous rappels, descent is good to go
- Set one stubby screw on P5 only

Pitch 2, not much ice.
Pitch 2, not much ice

Pitch 4, not much ice.

Pitch 5, above the chockstone.

PIKES UPDATE:
As of two weeks ago, TA and BA were pretty dry, save a half inch of verglas. However, the nights have been warm the last two weeks so I suspect even that's gone now. TA has a descent flow so its possible it may come in this year.

Kevin, how hard was the route? I will be visiting CO next week and looking to climb something on October 2 or 3 (or both). I've only just started into the world of alpine mixed routes, and have only lead up to M3. I was thinking this route would be good to push my grade a but but I would be hesitant if it is harder than M4.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
