Bump! Register soon as we need all the help we can get (and if we have enough participants, we'll be able to buy more tools). We'd love to fill this to capacity and get some good work done around Windy Point! :)

Please come out and help. I will be out there leading a team of trail workers. We have done a ton of work already and we need to tidy some things up. So please, please, please come give us a hand. If we have lots of people we will get more done! Thanks!

CASA Adopt Windy Point

Great news! CASA is in the final stages of formally adopting Windy Point.

Celebrate with us on Sept. 20, 2015 at our inaugural adoption event: Adopt a Crag 3: A New Hope for Windy Point.

Adoption of Windy Point is an exciting, and pioneering opportunity for CASA and the climbing community to take ownership of a heavily used climbing area and work officially as stewards in collaboration with the Forest Service.

Adoption of Windy Point means we will:

• Perform regular erosion control and maintenance
• Provide education to the public through signage and other venues
• Remove graffiti from the rocks on a frequent schedule
• Perform regular clean-ups

We’ve pledged to remove all graffiti from natural stone in our adopted area and to maintain a graffiti-free Windy Point. Working with the local Forest Service, we’ve tested and obtained approval to use an effective and environmentally-friendly method.

Let’s have an awesome turnout and show our commitment to responsible outdoor climbing!

Yours truly,
The Team at CASA

Please don't assume there are enough people and they will cover for you. Last time we did this we were short of help so please come out for even half a day if that is all you have. Thanks.

I'm excited to get out there and erase the graffiti all over the rock! Erosion control is going to be a ton of fun too. :)

Please consider joining this event.

It is a wonderful opportunity to give back to your community.

It's also a great way to meet other local climbers and make a tangible difference.

The CASA Team and awesome volunteers having fun and doing great work at Windy Point.

Thank you, Southern Arizona climbing community.

Our September 20th Adopt a Crag was a resounding success.

We kicked off our adoption of Windy Point by doing literally tons of excellent work.

Thank you to everyone who attended this event. Your hard work and effort are appreciated by all users of Windy Point.

Our production was excellent:
  • 45 Volunteers
  • 410 Volunteer hours
  • 40 Erosion check steps built
  • 88 Square feet of retaining wall built
  • 66 Square feet of rock armoring built
  • 50 Feet of spur trail closed
  • 13 graffiti sites treated
  • 455 square feet of graffiti treated
  • 9 40-gallon bags of litter removed

Thanks also to RBar Energy for providing us with some yummy energy bars to fuel the hard work, Arizona Conservation Corps for supplying additional tools for our project, and the USDA Forest Service - Coronado for supporting our work on public lands.

If you are interested in supporting what we do or if you would like to attend our next stewardship event, please visit our website: TheClimbersHome.org

Thank you, volunteers!
