Don't know where to stay in Yosemite on a Saturday in October

My friend and I will be pulling in to the valley on October 10th (Saturday) in the afternoon. We have camping reserved at the Pines for Sunday-Friday of the following week, but all the Saturday reservations are full. We can't try for Camp 4 because of the afternoon arrival. What are our options if we want to climb a little Saturday afternoon then find somewhere to crash Saturday night?

The OP might also want to check into the Yosemite campgrounds that aren't in the Valley, like Wawona and Crane Flat.

Check this as well:

Check out the campground kiosk in Curry Village, sometime there are cancellations in Upper or Lower pines. There is also the backpackers camp in the Pines, need to get a permit. Drive down to El Portal and park in one of the pullouts just outside the park boundary.

check out couchsurfing.com/

I used to work in the valley and i know theres a TON of employees who would let you crash on their floor for a night. I know a few of them used couchsurfer.

There are also cancellations in a lot of the campgrounds like people have previously said so check there too.

Per highlander. Check in at the campsite check in office in the curry parking lot and get on the wait list for cancellations. Earlier the better.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
