Has anyone used this bolt or heard anything about it. I bought a couple at the Home Depot and inspected its construction. It looks decent.

I am thinking about placing a couple 3/8x3s zinc-plated-CS in some very dense quartzite rock.
Any forewarnings?

Please do not use these in climbing applications. They are weak and prone to rapid corrosion.

A cursory review of this topic on MP will reveal several better options

What M Hanna said!!!! Those bolts are not for climbing! You can consult the American Safe Climbing Association(ASCA) website safeclimbing.org to see the bolts they recommend.

Definitely NOT suitable for climbing.

Similar size 5-piece bolts (Power-bolts) or quality wedge/stud bolts are more than twice as strong.

The 3/8" size of the ones you linked are only slightly stronger than a little tiny 1/4" buttonhead bolt!

There is your answer... If you're buying climbing bolts at the Depot, clearly your buying crap (jokes aside, they do sell the KWIK III which is a good bolt).

But, NO those bolts are not suitable for climbing. Go return them and get with a local developer for advice on how to bolt. The best way to learn is to branch off in-person experience from others who know what they are doing.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.

Fixed Hardware: Bolts & Anchors
