Is it just me or does Angie Payne have the grigri fed backwards in every shot in this video. I'm just a sport climber and not a bigwall climber, is there some secret use to the grigri that i don't know about? Am i just seeing the grigri wrong?

You can see the grigri pretty well at 5:23 and at 5:36.

I think the climb looks really sweet and i'm impressed by what they climbed, but the grigri kept weirding me out during this video.

The grigri is oriented in odd ways in many shots, probably because of the hanging belays. But the rope is running through it in the correct direction.

It's fed correctly.

It's just you. That gri-gri is fed properly...

I see that too.

It certainly seems to be backwards.

Am I seeing it wrong?

Edited to add, if you go back and use the pause button liberally, it's oriented fine.

Definitely fed correctly and oriented funny, but at 5:36 it looks like a left handed gri gri

yeah, i had to go grab my grigri and look closely . . . I have been injured all summer and have only climbed 2 or 3 times. but at 5:36 it doesn't look like a normal grigri(I only have the grigri 1) I didn't think they made the grigri in left and right versions?

They made a left handed gri gri 1, but I don't know if they made one for gri gri 2

It looks lefty at 5:36... But it's fed correctly...

I'm so confused... definitely fed correctly, but it really does look like a lefty grigri at 5:36... what's happening here?

nevermind...didn't see the comment about the lefty version. I didn't know it existed!

Looks like her GriGri is just flopping around with the slack. It'll become oriented when the system pulls tight. Newbs :P

The grigri at 5:23 is loaded properly.

The grigri at 5:36 is not a "left-handed" grigri; the video clip has just been inverted (it is a mirror-image) in post-production.

The Motorola Talkabout MT350R radio is also inverted.

I was curious if it was an editing thing. It makes more sense than her changing devices, haha.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
