Seeking climbers in Ecuador, Sept-Feb!

Hello!

I will be teaching English in Riobamba, Ecuador from September to February.
I am looking to connect with other climbers in and around the area.

I have a rope, full sport rack and trad rack that I may bring depending on who I meet and what gear is available locally.

So where are the spots? I hear the Cuenca region is where it's all happening.

Should I lug a rope and full rack or should I just focus on sport and bring my personal gear?

I'd love to meet and climb with anyone willing to show me around or explore.
I'm climbing 10's to low 11's on sport and 8's to 9's on gear and I love multi-pitch!

I just got back from a trip around there. The climbing around Riobamba and Cuenca is incredible. By Riobamba there's a place on the way to Chimborazo called la chorera, with very beautiful canyon with great climbing & a place in a city called guano with some 25 or so routes. Both locations are sport & have been developed in part by a very good friend of mine. In Cuenca there's climbing in cojitambo and paute, with paute's rock being like la chorera. Message me if you want some more information. Ecuador has incredible rock!

Also Ecuador has been bolted up as many local climbers prefer sport. There are some locations to do trad but I'd recommend the sport climbing.

A bit far but if you can get out to Sigsipamba I'd highly recommend it. Great climbing and the setting is quite nice as well! All sport for what its worth but some quite hard stuff if I remember right...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
