Compare climbing at South Wall (Precipice in Acadia) to Yosemite Valley

I know the valley's known to be notoriously hard, but for those that have climbed at both climbing areas how do they compare? Grades? Type of granite?

Hey Trevor,

I've climbed a fair amount in both areas and might be able to help a bit. Regarding grades I think that both places are pretty true, though some things in the Valley will feel fairly sandbagged if you aren't used to the style of climbing there (pin scars, glacial polish, funky flared cracks, spooky chimneys). Like climbing in any new area, climbing in the Valley will have a bit of a learning curve as you get used to the rock and style of climbing. At first I felt like everything was hard for the grade in Yosemite, but after a few weeks of being super humbled I began to get the hang of it. I don't remember having this experience in Acadia. Both places have granite and require you to be a solid crack climber, so I'd say that the climbing is comparable.

Hopefully this is helpful. I'd be curious to read what other people have to say about this topic.
