Bouldering Gym in North Boulder

Hey NoBo Climbers.

I just moved the family up to North Boulder and wondered about the possibility of a cooperative bouldering gym up here. There's a good number industrial spaces in the area and I feel like enough folks "buying in" would get us the space we need. nothing fancy- but we could all pitch into a "capitalization fund" to get over the initial investment, build walls and procure mattresses etc... you get the idea.

I have access to almost 200 holds that are currently in storage, it's a start.

There would be a monthly fee to pay rent and do a bit of upkeep. I dunno if this is possible or not, but figured i'd put it out there.

Let me know if you'd be interested. I work from home up here, I'd love a place within a few blocks i can cruise to for a workout during the week without having to drive to movement.

Tough to beat The Spot for the 3 months a year we have to climb inside. But if you get enough I'd be interested.

Have you checked rents? They are not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

yeah, this could be a pipe dream, something i have many of. but sometimes they actually work out and then awesomeness happens.

if the routes are fun and more than 8 feet high, and I can park in the lot when I arrive, I'd go.

If you found a location off 36 in louisville or broomfield I'd be more than down. I live nearby and either fight after work traffic to boulder or golden or the gym in thornton. I'm central to all, but not really close to any.

A location off the hwy 36 corridor would be sweet.. Wadsworth area?

Slightly off-topic, but since Rob and Andy just mentioned it, I thought I'd put in a plug for the new gym coming to Louisville next year!

well, something good came of this. congrats to you guys in Louisville.

I guess the next best thing would be if any of my neighbors in NoBo has a home gym and wants a "member" who brings cookies beer and brisket dinners on occasion, or pays a monthly "fee" and wants to give me a key to your place- i'm all ears!
