Heading out to Quartz Mt this weekend for the first time. I lead 5.8 comfortably in the WWR (Crazy Alice, Mr. Clean, etc.). What would be the best routes to do for the first time?

Also any word on camping up there?

Its been awhile since i have been there but when i was there, I was leading similar routes to the ones you mention. Quartz is, in general, a bit more old school than the WWR. A lot of the sport routes have some good size run outs on them. That being said, some of the trad routes there that i have done are great. Below are the ones I have done that I liked.

The Hobbit - my favorite 5.7 at quartz
Macho Man
South pacific
South Africa

Theses are all 5.7 trad and a good time

Whos got the Juice - 5.7 slab sport route. Probably at least about 20' between bolts. Allows you to top rope Super slide - 5.10d.

I have only camped at the state park. I remember it being a little crowded but not too horrible. im sure it varies by which weekend you go.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
