Climbing in Suesca, Colombia: Can we rent a rope?

Has anybody rented a rope and harness in Suesca? Hoping to climb there tomorrow, but just learned that the gear store may not rent anything other than shoes. Thanks!

If this is real, you are one trusting individual.

Hey Jamie,

I've lived in Suesca for about 5 months. I'm not there now but you can rent ropes and harness from Mono Dedo on the weekends. There should be a phone number on the door that you can call if they aren't in... which will be the case on a Tuesday.

If none of this works out consider either walking the track if you've never been and bouldering along the way or hiking up the El Valle de Los Halcones for some really fun bouldering... careful for guards though...

If Mono Dedo doesn't work out try the hostels on the strip there.

Cheers!

And yes, maybe expect the rope too be a little 'sketchy' by American standards. As dumb as it sounds I've climbed on some trash cords down there. Definitely inspect!

Thanks, josh! Super helpful!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
