Green alien trigger broken without taking a fall

Yesterday when I was climbing at Peter's Kill, just about to place one of my green aliens as the first piece on a route, I noticed one trigger was broken...ended up using a 0.3 C4 instead.

I have had this cam for almost two years, never taken a fall on it. This is the new Fixe Alien and I bought it brand new.

Anybody has seen something like this?

Yes. Trigger wires break. Happens all the time.

It happens to all cams, sometimes just from how you throw them in your pack all squished together all of the damned time.

when i read cable broke... i was expecting something more dramatic. fix it with a paper clip or some thicker gauge wire. no big... the fixe aliens pins break.

Aliens are pretty fragile compared to TCUs...as others have mentioned, just a hang in the backpack can "modify" them and they often have sharp small wires poking out...

Rich at Rock and Snow may be able to help you out. He fixed a blue Alien trigger wire for me once.
