Looks like they are shutting down part of the park.

In other news, two kids are dead from a tree branch smashing them while they were in their tent in Upper Pines.

Yea crazy. Was suppose to be at the meadows from the 18-21. Not sure I even want to go as soon as it opens now.

Are you wanting to avoid the plague or the trees?

Well poisonally, I'm more afraid of the crowds.

Add a fire in the Tioga Pass to the "maybe we shouldn't" go list….

If you think you are going to die from the plague or a tree branch you should probaly quit climbing and just stay home and continue to watch CNN and Fox News!

The plague is also in Colorado. It could have been much worse for the girl in Yosemite.

I'll take the plague over the Haunta virus any day( both have been found in Yosemite and Rado). If people aren't going, can I have your campground reservation?

I was in yosemite last week and one of those naughty Camp 4 squirrels jumped on my shoulder. Looks like my time in this world is running out. I should have known that sitting on the couch, eating Chinese take out and drinking beer is much safer than going outside.

Crane Flat campground has been reopened as of August 14th, but Tuolumne Meadows Campground is closed from today (August 17th, 2015) to Friday (August 21, 2015).

To clear any uncertainties, the meadows themselves along with the Crane Flat store/gas station are all open still. Access to the meadows are, however, pretty limited with the "Walker Fire" near Tioga Pass =O, so if you're coming from the east side, you may want to find another route.

The plague has existed the SW and Mongolia for thousands of years. Just don't pet the mice or squirrels.

If they just paved the whole park, no more squirrels, no more plague. And bolt ladder all the rock, no more injuries. Oh, and cut down all the trees, no more fires. Better safe than natural!
And if they would only filter this site, no more comments like this....

Of course it was! That observation has obviously never been made before. I would consider myself a philosophic innovator.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
