Canal Zone at CCC closed due to accident investigation?

Tried to climb at Canal Zone in Clear Creek Canyon today and it was closed due to an accident investigation. We saw some police officers near Canal Zone from the road. Anybody know what happened? |

We were told it had to do with an overnight fatality on Lookout Mountain Road. Nothing climbing related. |

We passed the jeffco sheriff on our way up the canyon. we were hanging out at catslab and another group showed up and said there was an accident at canal zone that morning. |

Not something you see every day: the V-8 engine from the car that drove off Lookout Mtn road Sunday morning sitting on the trail. We were climbing at Canal Zone, and the Sherrif's office closed the crag for the accident investigation (not really too sure how we climbers could possibly have interfered with their investigation, but oh well). RIP to the driver. |
