gear stolen 7/29-31/15 Mammoth
My pickup was broken into while parked 2 nights to take the Devil's Postpile shuttle to climb Clyde Minaret. What I miss the most: old style GriGri (has JulieB marked on it, unless they sanded it off) and a cheater QD a friend made for me. Also taken: Camalots .5-4, TCUs purple, blue, yellow), 18 sport QDs, 10 alpine QDs, 2 pair new shoes (Anasazi pinks, size 5, Anasazi Verde size 4.5), Mammut women's harness XS. They also took all my food. They tried to make it look like bears by spreading some of the food around outside the truck. But if it had been bears, the inside of the canopy would have been trashed and everything was where I left it, including a cooler with melted water from the ice in it, but no food. If you see the GriGri or have any clues who these jerks are, PM me. Thanks. |

I hope you get your gear back. Was it in a pack or bag of sorts? How was it stored? Maybe we/I can learn from your bad luck. |

Call Mammoth Mountaineering's used gear shop (a.k.a. Gear Exchange) in Bishop to see if anyone brought in a load. They operate on consignment, so they'll have the seller's name/contact info if anyone did. good luck! |

I saw this post on Craigslist and hope this is your gear! |
this would be really cool story if this is the stolen gear |
I hope this ends well for the original poster but beware all that gear is laying on the floor of what looks to be a mechanic shop. Could be lots of nasty chemicals on that floor... |
I don't think it is actually on the ground. I think it just appears so. |

if you have renters insurance they might cover it. |
