Weather is November

I'll be on the road for the month of November and I'm trying to find the best areas to climb. What's the weather like in the Denver/boulder area? I'm thinking I'll drive around to rifle and eldo while I'm there too, unless it's too cold and wet.

It will be hit or miss in those locations. If you stay in the sun and get a good stretch of weather it will be perfect. Oct and Nov have much more precipitation, but there should be plenty of good days.

Ive only been to rifle in the summer months so i can't comment. Eldo is only 10 min from boulder so the weather is comparable. The winds might be the deciding factor if you are up a multipitch. Look into shelf road for this time of year too.

From a weather channel article about Denver:

"In 2014, the high was 64 degrees on November 10, and then dropped to a record low of -13 degrees on November 12, a 77 degree decrease in temperature"

You never really know with the weather in Colorado, but I agree with Andy that the good November days are perfect.

Andy's right...it could be the best of times, could be the worst of times.

Eldo can afford some generally fantastic sunny days...but some seasons those sunny days CAN be few and far between. It's different year to year. And the ice season in Rifle can start as early as mid-November...OR is can be hot-during-the-day perfection. It really can go either way; don't PLAN on not having a back up plan.

As a Front Range denizen, I generally count on heading east to the Red (if'n I wanna clip bolts) or west to the desert (if'n I wanna plug 'n' chug) for more predictable weather and more consistent sends. A buddy is heading all the way to the Valley for November for what he calls the very best time of the year in Yosem.

Sorry to be so unspecific.

At any rate, I CAN tell you that Wyoming almost consistently sucks in November...

...the climbing, not the people or the state...

Luck!
