Safety: Safety Trumps Leaving No Trace in this Area. You will find hangers on bolts.

Camping: The Curtis Gulch Campground is 1/8 mile east of the Curtis Gulch Trail Head. You can also camp along La Bonte Creek at the various ad hoc site for free.
Water: there is a hand pump in the campground but it doen't always work. La Bonte Creek always has water that is drinkable after filtered.

Getting There
From the west on I-80 exit at 272 take SH 13 to Rock River. Pick up the Fetterman Rd on the right 3 miles north of Rock River on US 287. From the Fetterman Rd just south of the north Albany County line take a right onto LaBonte Canyon Rd. Drive 4.8 miles down La Bonte Canyon to the marked Curtis Gulch Trailhead.
From the south on I-25 take SH 34 west at exit 73 and continue until MM 36 taking a right on Tunnel Rd. After some 25 miles take a right at Jct Garrett and stay on Garrett Rd until taking a right on Jct Fetterman Rd. Proceed north on Fetterman Rd taking a right at Jct LaBonte Cyn Rd. About 4.8 miles to Curtis Gulch Trail Head on left.
From the north I-25 or NE (Razor city or Rapid City) or east (US 26 or US 18) take I-25 to Douglas and go off ramp at exit 140. Take/find the Cold Springs Rd 91 south of here for 24 miles then take a left at Jct Fetterman Rd. About 3 miles south of the Albany County line take a left at the Jct LaBonte Cyn Rd and the Curtis Gulch Trail Head on the left after 4.8 miles
