have you bought from mountaingear.com???

After researching what kind of cams I want to start buying on outdoorgearlab.com I decided to go with BD X4's paired with C4's. I looked at the bottom of the review page to see where I can find a good price and according to outdoorgearlab.com it shows that mountaingear.com has the best price. And they do significantly, although I don't see how they can undersell by so much. They want $56 for a .75 X4 compared to the $74 most other places want.(saving me almost $40 for the 2 I want) The next best price I found was $63. So then I looked at reviews of mountaingear.com and got lots of mixed reviews and too many bad ones for my liking. That being said I noticed that most of the bad reviews (with a few exceptions) were with people buying clothing and footwear and that may not really mountaingear's fault if the stuff doesn't fit the way people expected. And there are enough good reviews to give hope they wouldn't send the wrong cam... Has anyone had experience buying climbing gear from these people? |

I've bought gear from them without any problems. |
I've found them to be excellent. |
No issues ever with them. I've bought a splitboard, a couple pieces of climbing gear, and some clothing. |
Not really sure which Mountain Gear you're thinking of, but Mountain Gear that the link points to is in Washington state. |
....id also say that most of the complaints, in addition to being people who order North Face fleeces that don't fit, are people on the east coast complaining about shipping times. Which probably is quite slow coming from Spokane. |
I have made several purchases from them over the past 20 years without any problems |
Long time customer...no issues. |
seems pretty unanimous here. Thanks a lot that makes me feel better time to save some money. |

I've purchased cams from them before, no problems for me at all. I'd jump on those prices quick, I think it's a anniversary sale, doesn't last too much longer. |
I purchased a pair of shoes on a great deal and received it in a timely manner. |

Literally the only problem I've ever had with them, after about a decade of shopping with them, is that they use the US Postal Service's address validation software, which chokes on slashes in an address. So "404 1/2"? Couldn't process my credit card. "404 AND A HALF"? No problems. |
I've used Mountain Gear many times in the last 8 years. Zero problems or complaints. |

ordered both online and been to the shop a bunch, awesome people. |
56 is still less than wholesale price. I think all my X4 i got for 45ish. I know alot of people who work at gyms and normally can get gear really cheap. |

If you search around you can often find a $15 off orders over $75 coupon for mountain gear as well. |

But it is a great website to save on outdoor gear!Sorry I would have, but I had already ordered by then. and @ SpencerB I tried getting some various coupon codes to work with no luck. However I still did save just over $100 with 5 cams I ordered. Still fairly happy with what I spent. |

I haven't had a great experience with them - mountaingear.com has issues with keeping their inventory updated. An example is that quickdraws I ordered were not in stock even though the receipt estimated a ship date of 2 days later. When I called a week later to check on their status, it turned out there was a 2 month wait to get them. Would have been nice if they had informed me of this so we could get them elsewhere. |

They don't have the customer service or IT resources that a larger outfit like backcountry does. I've always had good experiences with them. Good selection, good prices, reasonable and fast shipping and plus you're supporting a small business! |

Paul Fish owns Mountain Gear, runs it out of eastern WA, and has for decades. |
