Looking for sport climbing partner in Europe for Sept

I'm going to be in Denmark in September for a conference and was hoping to try out some sport climbing in Europe. I'm currently thinking of either Norway or the Dolomites but am honestly open to going anywhere because my travel plans are somewhat flexible as of now. The dates will be somewhere between September 20th - September 30th and I'm hoping to get one or two days of climbing in. I will have my harness, ATC, and shoes but currently wasn't planning to bring my rope all the way from the US :)

If you (or someone you know) are looking for a climbing buddy or wouldn't mind connecting me with climbing locals in the above areas, that would be beyond awesome. Any suggestions on good areas to climb would also be welcome!

Dolomites is more of an multipitch trad climbing area than sport climbing (at least that is what it is known for). In Italy Arco, Finale Ligura or Gardasee is probably a better option if you only want to sport climb.

I also would consider spain (margalef, el chorro ...), greece (Kalymnos), or turkey (Geyikbayiri).

That's good to know, thanks MalcolmX! I have also been looking at Arco and Geyikbayiri so if anyone is going to be in those areas, feel free to message me.

Deepti, hi my name is Andy and I will be in Croatia from August 27 to September 12. I leave Geneva Switzerland on 26 September. I have no plans after The 12th. I'm interested in a partner for either Croatia or Anywhere in Southern Europe. I'd like to see Chamonix too. I will at least have a rope and some draws and camping gear. I climb anything really. Lead 11 sport and 10 trad. I may have a rental car the whole time for transportation. Maybe we can partner up? Or anyone else that interested?

Hey Andy,

That might actually work! I was actually just trying to decide between Croatia and Prague in terms of places to visit so this might be a good reason for me to pick Croatia. I'd be there between Sept 22 and Sept 26 so if any of those dates work for you, let me know. Were you thinking of Paklenica or some other area? I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to leading tougher routes (this might be a good time to expand my horizons) but I'm pretty comfortable following 5.10s/5.11s outside. I'll have my harness, ATC and shoes and can also bring some draws.

Hi Deepti and Andy,

Glad to see others are looking to partner up for some climbs in Europe around the same time I'll be there. The climbing views in Chamonix look awesome. I'll be in Morocco Aug 8-22. After Aug 22, I'll be backpacking for a month+ through Spain, (would be great to find a climbing partner for Mallorca or surrounding area), as well visiting France and Switzerland. My travel plans are flexible, and I'm up for ideas. I'll have my harness, shoes, and ATC. Perhaps I could plan to venture to meet you end of September when you'll both be there.

If anyone has suggestions on top rope routes in Spain or France, I'd welcome the tips. I'm comfortable climbing 5.10s and haven't ventured into mutli-pitch yet. Or if you know of respectable climbing outfitters?

On a side note, PM me if you're connected to the farming community or know of anyone looking for a helping hand in exchange for meals/housing.

Cheers,

Sunny
