Moving to Flagstaff where do you guys climb in August?

I'm moving out to Flagstaff at the end of the week. Stoked! I will have pretty much all of August free to climb. Where is the place to be in Aug? I'm willing to travel to surrounding states as well. I like all climbing disciplines, so I'm mainly concerned with hitting the places with the best conditions/weather. Feel free to throw out your opinions, off topic remarks, and call me out on my laziness! Thanks!

Paul, I'd seen those crags listed but I'm wondering why MP has August listed as the bottom or near the bottom of the climbing season chart for everything you said other than hobo jungle? Does it just rain a bit in the afternoon and that keeps people away or is it hot or something else?

It could be a little warm at any of the before mentioned areas during the summer but because of wall and route orientations these areas do see lots of shade which helps keep it manageable even when its warm out.

For instance you could go to The Forks in the AM, climb on the Davidson Wall in the shade then as it transitions to the sun you could bounce over to the Pillow Wall and eventually the Prow and climb in the shade all day... but it could still be swarmy and warmy because of monsoons or the beating sun but the climbing will be mostly cool and in the shade.

I say that this summer has been quite manageable and people have been ripping it up at most of these areas all summer! We have had some monsoon but the typical its 12noon now here comes the smash down has only happened a few times this season... bring a solid layer with you to keep it away.

Happy climbing!

I really like going to the winslow wall in the summer, worth checking it out.
