The Bolivia climbers guide was written in the late 90's and it seems like some routes have changed since then. Is there a more recent English language guide?

Alain Mesili's 2013 Glaciares y Guia de los Principales Nevados (Guidebook for the Bolivian Andes) is the most recent English climbers' guide that I know of. It has both English and Spanish descriptions of the routes. It covers more than enough for an extended trip.

His 2004 guide, translated by Erik Monesterio, The Andes of Bolivia, is the most comprehensive guide available. It still only covers a small fraction of the climbing possibilities. I'm pretty sure you can find it easily enough when you get to Bolivia. If not, you could borrow my copy. Just send me a pm and we can arrange something.

Yosi Brain's guide is still useful for getting to base camps and many of the routes haven't changed that much. Once you're at the mountain, you'll need to assess the conditions anyway.

I'm working on an English translation of Anne Bialak's French book on the Cordillera Real but it won't be ready for some time.

FWIW, the conditions seem to be really good this year on most mountains.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
