If you could climb all year round, where would you go?

Rules:
4 or less locations in a 12 month period.
US and Canada Only
Categorize the type of climbing. Sport, Trad, Bouldering or a mix.

If I could SPORT climb all year round I would do:
Mid-November to Mid-March in Joshua Tree
Mid-March to Mid-June in Red River Gorge
Mid-June thru August in Boulder
September to Mid-November in Rumney

Where would you go?

So you would hit Boulder during bird/bat/animal closures, afternoon thunderstorms, monsoon season and potential 100 degree days in the sun at over 6000 feet? I think prime Boulder season is October through December. Specifically November almost always seems stellar in Boulder.

I'm afraid you'd be sorely disappointed with the sport climbing in Jtree...

Might be some west coast Bias going on here... but it's justified.

Sports climbing:
Winter: Vegas /RR
Spring: Bishop,CA /ORG
Summer: Tensleep, WY
Fall: Red River Gorge, KY

Bouldering:
Fall, Bishop, CA
Winter, Hueco, TX
Spring, Joe's valley, UT
Summer, Tahoe, CA (ok definitely biased, but I love swimmin in that lake)

Gettin Traddy:
Fall: Yosemite ( duh)
Winter: Vegas/ RR
Spring: Indian Creek
Summer: Squamish

Haha...I do climb all year long and I don't go anywhere! Tucson, Mount Lemmon, 7,000 ft. of elevation gain out my back door! The rule of thumb is just drive up Catalina Highway with your windows rolled down. When the air temp suits your fancy, stop and walk to the nearest crag. Just saying...
and jesting (although it is awfully nice.)...
I know that's not the point of the thread but when I read it this little fact did cross my mind.

Right here....North Conway. Wait... I should ask if you prefer heat or ice climbing?

I don't disagree with this list at all but I'm waiting for the CO folks to show up and tell us we're wrong.

We have plenty of climbers here, isn't Moab part of Colorado anyway?

Yea, my CO experience is limited to a 3 day stint in Rifle and a quick drive up flagstaff mountain to go bouldering. I thought Rifle was awesome believe it or not, but I'd rather spend a whole summer in Tensleep. Love that WY life... so chill

I lost a few more brain cells after reading this. The remainder are lonely! I highly discredit this list because Colorado is not mentioned. As someone who lives in Colorado, I find it offensive that you don't acknowledge me or my statesmen. I mean, you listed Texas, and even though Hueco is cool.... Texas sucks.

Edit: I see you listed Indian Creek. Colorado can claim that since most Utahns don't know what to do with it, especially on Sundays. All is forgiven.

Glad I posed the question. Temps seemed to be cool enough most the time, didn't know about the other conditions. Ten Sleep does sound nice for summer though as long as you're a 5.11+ climber.

RRG < NRG

CO doesn't have the best climbing, but it has great climbing of all types in all seasons <2 hrs from Denver

Which destination/season would you swap in a CO crag?

You already have Indian Creek on the list. Although, you obviously haven't spent enough springs in the desert to know that it's not the most ideal time of the year...

too wet at the creek?

Usually too hot in the summer. Although it's been fairly mild this summer. The sun radiates off those walls and it feels much hotter than the report calls for though. You also should not climb after it rains, which it's been doing a lot lately.

RRG pizza > NRG pizza

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
