Best AT ski tech shops in Colorado?

Back country skiers of Colorado - I've got three pair of skiis to mount three diff bindings on, for different size boots. The bindings are Fritschi Diamir Vipec 12, Scout 11, and Dynafit Speed Turns. The skiis are pricey lightweight carbon planks, and I'm hauling them to Colorado for a group to get them mounted. The job has to be done right of course - if for no other reason I won't be able to go back to the shop and raise a fuss and a holler if it goes wrong.

Neptune's is an obvious possibility, though I moved away from there just before Gary sold the store; so I've lost any sense of how it is now.

Who would you trust this weighty responsibility to? I can travel anywhere in Colorado, so if there's a great shop in the high country that works too. Price is not the issue; confidence, quality, and perhaps jigs in stock are the considerations. For that matter, I might be able to get to the Tetons with them too, but that's another topic...

Thanks in advance for any info!

Even though he's "Closed for the Season", I think if you have enough work to make it worth his while, he'll do them for you. I.e. click on Contact Us.

Bent Gate is in my opinion the best shop for backcountry equipment and service in the front range. Probably worth your while to give them a call to make sure they have the jigs to do the job perfect.

If you're calling around, it might be worth checking with mountain outfitters in Breck. They carry a good selection of lightweight planks and touring gear. mtnoutfitters.com

i've had good experiences with wilderness sports in dillon. their consignment store is dope too (if you need a cheap pack or a pair of rock skis its rad)

The Mountain Shop in Estes Park. Zac is a great guy and a remarkable skier. Take a look the RMNP guidebook. If there is someone that knows the absolute importance of properly mounted gear its definitely him. He will treat you right and you can trust his craftsmanship.

Unless you like your boots on the comfy side vs performance end avoid Neptune for boots. Their philosophy is understandable, but what you lose on the downhill control isn't worth it. Also you can always punch a shell, it's difficult to make a boot smaller.

Though it's a trek, cripple creek backcountry in Carbondale is Amazing. They live and breath BC.

There are some great looking shops posted here. Thanks all for the solid leads, they will be checked out.

(p.s. to last poster, already have the boots sorted out - in my case w/ size 32.5/33 mondo, there wasn't much choice! just need the three sets of bindings mounted. cheers!)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
