Years ago I almost abandoned this very cam on the First Flatiron. Today, it was left on Tigger I hear by the second who thought it was a useless, dangerous piece of fixed garbage, quite unlike the new C4s on our friend's rack. But no, this was supplementary gear to make doubles in some sizes.
Ha ha ha. I'm laughing here.
Anyway, definitely remove the cam if you come across it to clean up the line. As to what you end up doing with it, personal museum? A dark corner of the garage? Pull test to failure? Take your pick. If you were wondering about it, this is your answer.
