Looking for moderate two day traverses in the Sierras- something in the 5.6-5.8 range would be great. Not looking for anything as serious as the Palisade or Evolution. Any input welcome!
Cheers,
Tess

Must be some way to construct a suitable link-up of moderate climbing routes and ridge traverses in the Rock Creek area.
Maybe N fork Lone Pine Creek: do a route on the Impala (a bump on the SE ridge of Mt Carillon) on the first day, then something on Whitney or Russell the second day (or Pinnacle Ridge?).
Another idea might be Mt Conness: do the N ridge one day and the W ridge another.

P.S. Rather than haul camping/bivy gear around for two days (up two 5.7 climbs?) - my own preference would be to pack light, start early, and do the whole link-up in a single day.
I'm heading off to try the Sawtooth Traverse this weekend.. supposedly it goes at 5.8 and is the easiest of the big 3 (Sawtooth, Evolution, Palisades). I'll let you know if it seems suitable.

I'm no expert on these big traverse, but I thought there were several versions (different start/finish points) of the Evolution traverse, with different lengths and max section-difficulty. It does seem that most people who report and blog about it choose the longest version.
Palisades also I think could have a different start-finish, but I think the crux difficulty depends much on whether or not you choose to visit a certain summit, or bypass it. (And maybe the approach/descent for Sill - North Pal is longer than some others.)
There are other long traverses: Whitney ridge (optionally starting at Arc, finishing over Russell) Rock Creek rim ridge Minarets
There's also the question of what is meant by "multi-day". Some of the traverses are often done by camping at the start, then climbing in one long single-day push (e.g. Palisades: Sill - North Pal). So then does the approach "count" as one of the two days?
Or could get creative: Set up your camp within easy range (approach/descent) of the middle of two single-day climbing sections. (Why I mentioned the Cathedral Range / Matthes Crest area).
