New Alien Lite (Evo) Head width vs Totem Baisc, x4, Totem Cam Etc

Can anyone post pics or caliper #s on the HEAD WIDTH of equivalent cams for the new Fixe Alien LITE (Evo) cams vs Totem Basics, Totem Cams, X4s etc?

Tying to gauge if plugging a small size gap (real or perceived ) with a Double Sling Lite Alien is "worth it"vs alt options

Cheers

I just got the yellow evo lite and am stoked at initial placements. If you would like me to measure that subjective level of stoke, that's the only figure I could offer. Stoke level is in the 9-10/10 level.

The cabling feels a bit "grainy" in the pull, nothing noticeable on lead, but definitely different than the wire of other cam types. It seems as if this design will be much more resistant to the kinking other alien models are prone to.

The trigger feels great, a real sense of it curving around your fingers. I got the single-length sling and it is still a bit longer than normal cam webbing. Maybe it saves a draw on occasion?

I am definitely going to update my finger sizes with these bad boys, they seem like a very classic design improved.

The new aliens are the narrowest 4 lobe cams out there ... Almost as narrow as the c3s

Blue alien lite vs equivalent c3

Vs x4

Vs TCU

While they don't go as small (only down to green alien equivalent) the Totems Cams are actually the same width as the equivalent C3. So the Blue Totem = Yellow C3 in size and width.

Just curious, what size gap is served by the Fixe Aliens?

I'm a huge fan of Totem Cams. However, there's a bit of a size jump between the Blue and Yellow. Blue (13.8-22.5mm) is close to the Classic CCH Green (13-22). The Totem Yellow (17-27.7) jumps up to what was once the CCH Grey size (17-30). Once in a while, I miss the legacy CCH sizing and the yellow (15-25).

Totem, in tweaking their Basics Sizing to eliminate the Grey, made their Basic Yellow (16.6-26.1) bigger so it's not the same.

I realize I'm harping on mm diferences or less but I have noticed times when my Blue Totem was a bit small and the Yellow a bit big.

That gap is best filled by a Fixe Yellow (15-25) or a BD 0.4 X4 (15.5-26.6) so trying to sort out the new Evos vs what I have.

Without one in hand, I'm a bit suspicious of the listed Fixe yellow size. The Totem basic green/yellow are a hair smaller than the old CCH green/yellow (not noticeable), the basic red is slightly smaller than the CCH red, which made the grey redundant.

I bet Fixe didn't change the yellow size, just that the listed size went through rounding twice: 1.04" -> 1.0" == 25.4mm -> 25mm

Yellow Fixe Alien Evo vs. Yellow CCH

Definitely a bit narrower head-width on the new Fixes vs. the genuine article. I'm too lazy to take further supporting pictures right now, but that Yellow CCH also has some kinked up trigger cables and a shorter sling. Still classic? Yes. But the small touches are winning me over and I just added the green to my stable yesterday, my old comparison dropped by a butter fingered partner on the follow a couple years ago.

Comparison to mastercam head width?

Green alien lite vs blue totem

Yellow alien lite vs yellow totem

Red alien lite vs purple totem

As u can see the alien lite are generally the narrowest 4 lobers right now across the sizes

As a bonus and just for senseless spray ... Here a climb where an AZN epic occurred today ... Totems were used in anger

A green fixe lite is listed at 0.53" - 0.86", and the blue mastercam (#1) is listed at 0.49" - 0.71" and is the only mastercam I have in a comparable range. But the #2 mastercam is 0.62" - "0.89", so it's really a toss up which cam you consider synonymous. In any case, the green is still a smidge narrower:

Green Fixe vs. Blue Mastercam
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
