Found this thing in a cableas catalog:
cabelas.com/camp-blind-stov…
Anyone think this would be the ultimate for a dirtbag van?

Off topic, however anyone spending money at Cabela's should know it's going to the NRA. The owner of Cabela's gave $1,000,000 in cash to the NRA.

If that's where you want your $$ to go, that's fine. If not, shop REI or local mountain shop instead. As an avid hunter, I've spent plenty at Cabela's in the past, but won't be any time soon.

Anyone heard of problems getting a mini refillable cylinder (like a 5lb cylinder) refilled, like frequently running into minimum purchase requirements?

I've had a Coleman Combi Stove for a long while. 1/2 Grill 1/2 Burner. It's pretty awesome when you want to grill stuff. You're the camp hero when you bust out grilled pork chops after a long day of climbing. HOWEVER, it's not that great as a second burner for pots/pans AND it gets filthy FAST. If you have the ability to give it a good clean each night or two (camp has running water etc) then it's not a big deal. If you're limited on your ability to get it wet and sudsy, it gets nasty fast.

After several years of doing the split personality I was over it. I still have it for larger outings etc but I sought out a normal two burner as I feel they're better for faster food prep etc. This all depends on your food preferences of course.

I did a fair amount of reading about stove wading through the usual blogs and list reviews.

All of that came down to this. IMO, there are two "classes" of stoves. 1) Your typical Coleman, CampChef etc 2) Hard Core Outfitter Stoves

The Outfitter stoves are impressive beasts with the quality and price to match. I REALLY wanted to get a nice Partner Steel 22" but couldn't justify it for my occasional use.

Numerous sources indicate that Camp Chef, Coleman, Primus, Brunton, Stansport and Texport stoves are all made on the same line in the same factory. They essentially pick certain parts and their quality level (e.g. stainless drip pan vs lesser metal etc) but they'll all be damn close. (OutdoodGearLab pointed out how close the CampChef and Stansport are).

I ended up going with the CampChef Everest 2 Burner from REI as I had a coupon and rewards to cash in. Amazon currently has the Stansport 2 Burner for $69.

I bought one and it had screws rolling around the inside, bent hinges, dents, lid didn't line up, knobs crept up from a simmer to medium, crooked knobs, uneven flame, etc. The primus ones are built a lot more high quality. I'm a big fan of the profile 2 stove for car camping
Similar, but it seems way better is the Coleman unit..I like the oven if space isn't at a premium..kinda tired of the folding oven.

No hate here for the camp chef ranger 2. Burly cast burners and works fine, no problems ever. The only thing is it has no windscreen so you need to come up with something. We run it off a 11 lb propane cylinder which fits the kitchen storage setup. Refill once every couple month or two of camping.

I've had my Coleman double burner for over 15 years and it's still going strong. Just gave it a big cleaning in the spring and it's good as new. I only use it on longer trips though. Most weekends I'm using this, which is the shizz:

add me to the list for the Coleman dual burner
