Wondering what the chances are that I'd be able to secure a campsite in the Tuolumne Campground (or one nearby) in the middle of the week through the weekend. Would be there 23rd to the 26th of July.

Thing is, I'd have a ride there and back but I'd be getting dropped off so won't really have the luxury of cruising around to find a site. Looking to find somewhere nearby and dig in for a few days, preferably a campground where I can find partners if nothing is lined up before I get there.

Any advice is greatly appreciated! And if anyone is out there and looking for partners, let me know.

There were empty sites midweek a month ago.

+1. A month ago. But that was before schools got out. It's harder now.

I went midweek on July 1st right before the holiday weekend. I believe that was a Tuesday. By Thursday night everything was full, but again this was probably because of the 3 day holiday weekend most people got.

I would head out to the main campground in Tuolumne. There's a poster board by the store with people always looking for a partner each time I've been there

Half the sites are first come, first serve, so be at the campground office by the main campground around 6 AM, be in line when the office opens. Don't get caught bivying the night before.

We were there last week, stayed in Lee Vining but driving past the Tuolumne campground the available space sign was out in the morning but gone (full) in the afternoons and evenings. I would guess that if you get there early your chances of snagging a spot would be decent.

Awesome; thanks for all the advice!
