Hello everyone -

Going to Acadia Aug 8th through 15th. I heard there is an app that can be downloaded with climbs in the area? I'm going to be with some individuals that have experience and some people who have never climbed before. I hear there is some great top roping at the cliffs. What is needed for building anchors there? I heard there were bolts installed by the park service? Also, anyone have info on the Bubbles (I think) and the Precipice Wall? Are there any sport walls on the island?

Thanks in advance!
All the best!
Keith

I've not used it, but the screenshots look promising.

You can buy the guide book at Acadia Mountain Guides/Alpenglow Adventure Sports on Main St. All the climbs at Otter Cliffs are reached from the top of the cliff but knowledge of top managed systems are a must, you can set up a number of climbs off of the staples and eye bolts that the park put in but everything else can be done with a single rack to #3 C4. Plenty of easy climbs over at South Bubble that are also very easy to set up, and also a number of sport routes over at Canada Cliffs.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
