Pain in Pinky Finger around upper joint

Woke up this morning and noticed sharp pain in the upper joint of my pinky finger when crimping or open hand position holds. It is not tender to the touch and no visible swelling, so im guessing it is not a pulley issue. Yesterday I climbed in the gym and definitely did some dynamic moves on the Moon Board, but did not notice any pain during or after my session. It does not hurt when twisting the finger either so may not be a collateral ligament. Perhaps DIP joint?

Any similar experiences from folks or suggestions as to what the issue may be? Ive had finger injuries in the past so I know the rest and ice or hot/cold therapy drills.

Ah yes, the old cigar-cutter to the pinky trick; guaranteed to get you climbing faster than waiting for the tendon to heal.

Topside if I had to pick one, but when I weight it in any hand position it causes a sharp pain around the entire joint (being the one closest to the tip of my pinky finger). Done some more research that hints toward some kind of strain of the DIP joint.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
