Squeezing in a few days in Tonsai in August, and looking for people to climb with. Specifically hoping to get on Lord of the Thais, and maybe Orange Chandeliers. Trying to arrange some DWS charters to go to some spots other than Poda Island, so if anyone is interested in jumping in on that, let me know.

A buddy and I will be in the area around that time. The stuff you are looking to do is a bit beyond our skill level. We are in the 5.10- early 5.11 range. If you are still interested in meeting up shoot me a message.

Hey, I'll probrably be climbing in Thailand in August, I was planning on starting in Tonsai, but it would be cool to move that back if you needed a partner. Were you planning on climbing anywhere else in Thailand?

I'm in Tonsai now climbing with my girlfriend. We're climbing mainly on Tonsai Tower but want to hit up the drinking wall and some more varied scenery. Anybody know any local climbers? All the climbing shops here have no guides, as its the low season. Climbing in the 5.10b/c/d range, but could climb harder with a partner. Best free soloing places? The weather is pretty bad so no one wants to take us.
I'm here until 7/13. Haven't seen another climber here yet...

Would still love to find someone to hop on Lord Of The Thais with. I should be able to lead all pitches, if someone wants to lead a few, or follow the whole way.

Hey, everyone.

Looks like I'll be getting to Ton Sai a little after you all leave. I've been traveling the rest of Thailand for the past two months (including a month climbing in Chiang Mai), but it's my first time to Ton Sai / Railay / Ao Nang and I'm completely confused on where to stay.

I have other friends say they showed up and found bungalows for 100 baht per night, but

A) I can't find those deals anywhere online

and

B) I can't find anything other than Resort Spas right on the beach.

I've tried google web search, google map search, hostelworld, and agoda, but I can't find anything close or cheap. Am I missing something here?????? Do I just need to show up and figure it out in person??

If anyone is still around after Aug. 23, I'm down to climb!

In general, most people just show up and find a place when they get to Tonsai. Its seems kinda weird if you are used to having everything pre-planned, but that seems to be the way it works on Tonsai. Hop off the long tail that brings you into Tonsai, walk to the nearest bar, or Tonsai Roof, and just start talking to people. Ask them where they stay, how much it costs, etc. There are a couple of bungalow places right off the beach where the boats land, so you can also just walk straight to those places and see whats available.

Good luck!

Anyone going to be there August 29th through September 6th? I'll be looking for climbing partners. I climb in the 5.10 to early 5.11 range

Thanks! My friends finally got back to me and confirmed this as well. Should be a sweaty good time!

I get in on the 26th. Climb into the mid 5.11's until I get used to this style, then maybe I can push a little harder.

I'm in Ao Nang. Very close to Ton Sai. The weather is hard to predict now. There are stretches of a few days where it will be sunny and nice but then there can be a week of off and on rain. The last few days have been rainy and it's been hard to get a lot of climbing in.

If anyone needs a partner send me a message. I'll be here for several more months...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
