Description
Mt. Lincoln is named after president Lincoln. We may think that Abraham Lincoln was this great humanitarian.... He approved the death sentence of 38 Dakota Indians by hanging on December 26, 1862 in Mankato, Minnesota, after we (the Wasi'chu) forced them into starvation and desperation, hence the war of 1862 and the massacre at Wounded Knee.
This route is located on the Windy Wall. The easiest way to reach the Windy Wall is to walk from the top of Lincoln Falls up towards the toe of the rock glacier and then traverse high over to the base of the wall. Follow 3rd class terrain along the base of the cliff until you find anchor bolts, this is Heche En Gringolandia.
Pitch 1: Start on Heche En Gringolandia and move climber's left to the overhanging crack. The crack takes good gear and is steep enough to hang yourself from. Belay from the piton and nut fixed anchor.
Descent: walk off to the south or continue up Heche En Gringolandia or the Chosspector Corner.
