Looking for new (outdoor) climbing buddies in South Bay / Penninsula

After getting me hooked on outdoor climbing, and helping me begin my journey into trad climbing, my main climbing buddy recently decided that he wants to go back to grad school and will thus begin deemphasizing climbing in the meantime :(. So, I find myself looking to extend my outdoors climbing circle so that I'm not totally out of luck as he becomes less and less available.

I've been climbing outside for about a year now, and leading trad for the past couple months. Most of my experience is down at Pinnacles and I've also climbed around Tahoe, Auburn Cliffs, and Castle Rock a few times. I'm leading in the 5.6-5.8 range for trad, 5.9-5.10b for sport, and at PGSV I generally climb 5.11b+TR/5.10b lead.

Let me know if you'd be interested in climbing together! (inside or outside)

Hi,

I am in easy bay. And I am seeking for chances to go outside for climbing, currently I just do indoor climbing (5.11c TR). I know how to lead too even though I don't have a permit yet.

So if you don't mind to teach me how to do outdoor climbing (anchors etc.), I am very happy to climb outside with you. :)

Please let me know.

Hey,
I'm in Sac and would be interested in climbing outside--Auburn, Tahoe, Bay area. I climb the same as you, have a fair amount of lead experience, but don't have any trad experience. I'm interested in trad though and am looking into building a rack. I usually climb at Pipeworks during the week. Let me know if you're interested.

Cheers,
Matt

I climbed more as a grad student than ever, except for the 6 month period before my defense.

if you're looking for outdoor or indoor sport climbing partners, let me know! I'm more of a sport climber than a traditional climber, and am looking to project at outdoor sport crags this summer (gold wall, mt. st. helena, columns of the giants, mickey's beach).

if you ever want a lead climbing partner for indoor climbing at planet granite sunnyvale, let me know!

hardest OS on lead outside (5.11C, "sweet pain" at red rocks) and I project ~5.12b/c indoors

Hi Eric,

I've been bouldering for 4 years and started outdoor toproping (Berkeley, Mt. Tam, Tahoe, Yosemite). I have all the gear for setting outdoor topropes and have been setting up anchors for the group. I have also read Craig Luebben's book on climbing anchors.

Anyways, I'm located in the East Bay but I'd be willing to travel to learn to trad or sport climb! I was planning to learn on my own but having a partner would be even better.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
