Ive passed this spot a few times. It is a few miles off of Route 15 on birkshire valley road (in NJ) But didnt get a real good look at it since i was on the back of a motorcycle but..It is an awesome rock wall with toprope potential. The landing was clear and it was maybe 30 feet of the main road. I was curious if anyone had climbed that spot before? It also appeared that there may be some good bouldering to be done in that vicinity as well..

So headed back there yesterday. After taking the 2 minute approach it became clear people frequent there. There are at least 5 bolted routes there and a bunch of biners left on the wall. I personally couldnt tell you the quality of the bolts or anything. The rock seems in pretty good shape but looks like it could use a little cleaning up..

Here are some photos as requested :D

Awesome!

My sister used to live in Lake Hopatcong and I spent a summer out there, working at the McD's on Rt 15 in Jefferson. I had a gf who lived off of Berkshire Valley Road and remember hiking out to a big rock formation.

PM me directions, or specifically where it is on Berkshire Valley Road. And let me know if you plan on going out there and I'll try to show up. Would love to check it out, even if it's just TR cragging.

Thanks!

I havent climbed there in summer, but the past two winters its gotten decent ice and Ive top roped a few lines. That spot is really close to me, so we were able to wake up early and get a lap or two in before work. great way to start the day

the cliffs are decently sized in a few spots, but they would need to be cleaned. they are covered in lichen in many areas. it could be a cool little spot with some development though

I have driven that road countless times and never bothered to stop and check that cliff out. I grew up in Jefferson, just a few miles from that little cliff. I assume it's on Watershed property? My mom lives in Sparta, so maybe the next time I visit I'll check it out. Hopefully with climbing gear. I think there is a similar size cliff across from the high school that might be worth looking into.
