Good coastal climbing Everett/Seattle.

I am visiting Everett to see an injured friend for a short stay...
Due to the short nature of this trip, and the super hot temps forecast for the Cascades, and the vehicle we are borrowing.....

Any favorite coastal spots of recommendation for day trips?

We may try to get up high somewhere, but need to see how things play out...

Any info on conditions up higher would be good also. Based off what friends are saying though:
Rainer is a junkshow - looks like August..
Liberty Bell will be pretty damn hot..
As well as dragon tail, and Index, and Leavenworth..

Any thoughts PNW peeps?

Cheers,
Cory

From a former PNW'er...

Mt Erie might be a place to go? Exit 38 and 32 and definitely options as well.

If your into obscurities, try Elwah wall or Chimicum rock on the Olympic Peninsula, should be nice out there this time of year. Elwah was has plenty of shade. climbersguideolympics.com/c…

Best of luck!

I've had some really lovely days at Index and the Exits lately, and even better evenings. Those are totally options. Steer clear of anything east of the mountains, it's just too hot. If you're already up in Everett Mt. Erie is probably a reasonable place to visit. I can't vouch for the actual climbing on the Oly Peninsula but the weather over there this time of year is appreciably cooler than other parts of the state and not to mention just a really gorgeous area in general to explore. Have fun!

Hit Mt . Erie. Little to no approach and you will get great views of puget sound and the san juans. The climbing isnt spectacular, but the views are what you are going for.

inner walls at index stay pretty cool in hot weather

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
